Angad Singh is a MLA from constituency (Vidhan Sabha) of Punjab. Angad Singh is member of Indian National Congress, he has defeated his nearest competitor Jarnail Singh Wahid from 3323 votes. Jarnail Singh Wahid is member of Shiromani Akali Dal. Angad Singh has got 38197 votes where as Jarnail Singh Wahid has got 34874 votes. Charanjit Singh Channi, member of Aam Aadmi Party received 32341 votes and got third position in Punjab Pradesh assembly elections 2017. Total 105412 voters have used their voting rights to cast their votes for Indian National Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and Aam Aadmi Party and Indian National Congress is winner by 3323 votes in assembly elections 2017 from seat of Punjab. Angad Singh Nawanshahr is a young dynamic leader who hails from a lineage which has dedicated its life in the service of people of Nawanshahr. He is the proud grandson of six-time MLA Late S. Dilbag Singh and son of ex-Parliament secretary Late S. Parkash Singh and current sitting MLA from Nawanshahr Smt. Guriqbal Kaur. He did his schooling from Bishop Cotton School, Shimla and Yadavindra Public School, Mohali. Nothing has come easy to Angad and everything has been a constant struggle for him. Even before he entered adulthood his father was diagnosed with cancer and he was the sole caretaker going from hospital to hospital and doctor to doctor leaving no stone unturned for him to get better. The untimely demise of his father came at the tender age of 20. One thing that was consistent among all this strife was the teachings of his elders that was to serve and make a difference which kept him engaged and dedicated in the local politics with his mother; Sardarni Guriqbal Kaur Babli who is the present MLA of Nawanshahr. She has been a great mentor to him and played the role of a great mentor. At the age of 18, he contested his first election and was elected as the general secretary of District Youth Congress, Nawanshahr. At the age of 21 he became the youth Congress president from Nawanshahr.
